Our Story

ELIZABETH. is an elevated neighbourhood restaurant in the heart of downtown Stratford, by chef-owner Brian Clarke and partner Sarah Sylvester.

We lovingly renovated our 38 seat restaurant independently, and named it ELIZABETH., after Brian’s grandmother who was adamant that he never step foot in her kitchen.

We offer a fresh, seasonally driven menu that changes frequently, and is built upon the availability of our ingredients; most of which come from as close to the restaurant as possible.

We are proud to be a living wage restaurant.

Over the last ten years, Chef Brian Clarke has run some of the most beloved kitchens in southwestern Ontario. Along with being a head chef and restaurant owner, he is also the voice behind the globally popular podcast, “Lets Talk About Chef”.

When covid 19 shut down restaurants everywhere, he co-founded the charity “Bayfield Eats For Hospitality Relief”, which provided much needed financial assistance to hospitality workers that were affected by the pandemic.

This is Brian’s primary restaurant in Stratford.
